WHY ARE WE DOING A CAPITAL CAMPAIGN?
 
The purpose of the capital campaign is to raise funds in order to buy or build our own church building. Our current space is facilitated under a lease agreement.
 

 

DO YOU HAVA A BUILDING OR PLOT OF LAND ALREADY?

No, we are currently in the process of locating a suitable building
or plot of land where we could build.
 

 

IS THERE A PARTICULAR/PREFEREED AREA IN MIND?

Yes. We would like to find a building or plot of land near/around the Lowell/Chelmsford/Billerica area.
 

 

HOW MUCH WILL OUR BUILDING OR BUILD OUT COST?

After doing feasibility studies and working with our Church lender (Acts 12:24 Conference and Free Methodist Foundation),
we anticipate the cost of the building between $1.8MM – $2.0MM
($2 Million). This is similar to our current budgeted operating costs and should not be burdensome for our church as we want to practice good stewardship in all we do for Jesus.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

HOW MUCH DO WE WANT TO RAISE THROUGH THIS CAMPAIGN?

In light of being good stewards and administering our funds well,
we would like to raise a 20% down payment, which would be ~$400,000. We already have $100,000 saved, and the church anticipates saving an additional $100,000 over the next year with God’s help.
 
Therefore, we are asking our church leadership, members, and friends of GracePoint, to help raise ~$150,000 – $200,000. We believe when we work together for God’s Plans, He always makes a way.
 
 
CAN THIS BE COVERED THROUGH REGULAR TITHES AND OFFERINGS?
 
No. While we are thankful for the regular contributions made through tithes and offerings, these funds are being used for operational costs such as rent, staff, and other utility expenses at the current location. A budget with this detailed information is presented, at least, annually.
 
However, as you may know, buying or building a place of this magnitude requires substantial capital. For this reason, we have
put in place this capital campaign, in order to raise enough funds
to cover, at a minimum, a sizable down payment. But, depending
on your generosity and that of all individuals joining this effort,
we may even be able to pay for all of this outright!
 

 

HOW DO I KNOW MY MONEY IS BEING USED FOR THIS PURPOSE?

We are committed to being responsible stewards and as transparent as possible in all areas of our ministry, especially
when dealing with financial gifts received. For this reason, we have opened a bank account which is designed to specifically contain
all donations destined for this purpose. In addition, a report of the current amounts will be actively displayed and/or communicated regularly throughout the process.
 
ARE THERE ANY OTHER WAYS I CAN HELP?

Update – NOVEMBER 2021

We have made an offer on land in Chelmsford (Billerica Rd.) and the offer was… ACCEPTED! We are thankful to God for this first step of success and to all of you for your continued support. We will be working with Engineers to ensure the land is adequate for the needs of our Church and we pray that we can sign the Purchase and Sale Agreement by early 2022. Keep on praying!
